The eighteenth (ordinary) session of the International
Bioethics Committee of UNESCO (IBC) will be held in Baku (Azerbaijan), from
31 May to 2 June 2011. Three main topics will be at the heart of this
session: the

respect for human vulnerability and personal integrity,
as set forth in article 8 of the UNESCO
Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights
(2005); the issue
